Wintersowing has many benefits. With this method you don't need expensive grow lights to grow plants indoor. No more spindly, leggy plants and mold, fungus problems. You don't need to hardening off the seedlings either.

What is wintersowing?
Sowing seeds during winter months to get early results. In this process you sow seeds in container and keep it outside during winter months.

What type of containers for seed sowing?
You can use anything like milk jug, the tray in which you get cake with plastic lid, The plastic container in which you get strawberries, two litter soda bottles ect.

3. Method:
Take a milk jug and make a hole in bottom for drainage with the help of soldering iron. Make sure to use soldering iron in ventilated area.

Cut the milk jug in half below the handle but leave little space uncut so that the two halves may not separate.

Now add seed starter mix in lower half of milk jug. Spray with water sow the seed, label it. Close the upper half and tape it with duct tape.

If using cake pans with plastic lid or similar containers you need to make hole on upper lid and bottom(drainage).

Don't put the lid on. It should be kept open so that you may not cook the plant in heat.

Now it's ready to go out. Keep it outside in garden over slat, bench or patio.

As weather gets suitable for germination of seed your seeds began to sprout. Most of the time it sprouts two months prior to last frost date. When germination occurs you may need to water it when it dries. When two true leaves will appear you can transplant it in the ground.
